Top Eight Places to go to in Mongolia: Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar is a big city filled with 1.5 million people. It is also known as the most coldest capital city in the world at -40 degrees Celsius during winter! That is why in 2018 people named it one of the most polluted cities in the world because everyone is trying to stay warm and is burning coal. But after winter the cities pollution doesn’t last as winds and warmer days greet people and thus fewer coal is burned.
In Ulaanbaatar you can visit notable museums such as The Chinggis Khan Museum, and The Chinggis Khan Square. You can also go to various restaurants and shopping malls which sell every item known to man of American and Chinese origin. The act of Throat singing can also be appreciated and seen here as part of the Mongolian culture at one of the famous music shows around town. At a restaurant you can order mutton and noodles as a cultural dish and Borsht soup which is really a Russian and Ukrainian dish made with red beets, beef, and potatoes it’s really good. The Mongolian’s say, “A good wife knows how to make love and cook good noodles.” Lol
While there you can visit the National History Museum, The Gandan Monastery which is one of the most important monasteries in Mongolia, The Winter Palace, and The Zaisan Memorial.
Chinggis Khan Statue Complex Mongolia

This Chinggis Khan is a huge hero for the Mongolian people. He is celebrated here with a giant 40 meters high statue of him on horseback. It’s really impressive. Inside the building you can also see historic things in the museum related to him. Located in the town of Nalaikh.
Bogdkhan Natural Reserve
Located outside Ulaanbaatar this nature reserve is probably the oldest in the world. Stunning landscapes and views. You can hike up to the Mandshir Khild (or Manzushir Monastery) that was once home to 350 monks.
Gorkhi-Terelj National Park
Terelj National Park is so beautiful. The sunrise and sunsets are amazing! The views and the fresh air is great as well. You can hike, ride camels or horses and even dog sled so cool.
Bayanzurkh, Khövsgöl
This is in the Northern most region of the country. There is a lake, dramatic waterfalls and wildlife. It’s very hard to find or get to and not everyone can get there because some places you need special vehicles to access.
East Taiga
This is a big huge adventure going to the Taiga. It’s wild and hard to get to. Not for the faint hearted. You first have to go by car then go by horseback for miles and miles. But the rewards are great! You will see amazing things and earn memories forever. Be sure to take lots of pictures if your camera or phone still works there.
Tsenkher Hot Springs
This is a nice idea to go and relax and recharge yourself on your epic Mongolian adventure vacation. Go indoors and relax with hot steamy baths or go outside and relax in warm, hot pool’s. Bubbling to a warm and comfortable 85 degrees Fahrenheit while overlooking the forests.

Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park
The famous Gobi desert is a Mongolian treasure. Here you can ride horses, and camels, go hiking, and get swept away by this magical landscape. It’s worth also mentioning that the sands while the wind blows it makes a sound thus, the name “Singing Sands.” While the starry night sky of Mongolia is so beautiful as well.
