What Is A Cog Railway?

A cog railway is a special type of railway and train that can climb up mountains without tumbling to the ground and crashing. The Cog is a type of gear that links to the teeth of the railway and prevents the train from sliding down to the bottom when it is climbing up hills or mountains. It certainly comes in handy as these trains can climb 14,000 feet.

This train only goes nine miles to the most beautiful and amazing places in the nation. It goes through Pikes National Forest, which turns beautiful shades of red and gold from maple trees and there are lots of aspens and pine trees. Then the train goes on to Ruxton Creek and finally up to the giant climb to Engelmann Canyon. Throughout the adventure you get to see nature and beauty of plants and animals.
